  3.    SYSOP is the Fido utility used to manipulate the user 
  4. list, USER.BBS. It is fairly simple to use; for help with a 
  5. specific command, hit ? again, then the command key you want 
  6. help with.

  8.         Used to locate a specific name. A sliding substring 
  9. match is made: entering AN will find: any, STAN, Anthony, 
  10. etc. It is not case sensitive. The search starts at the NEXT 
  11. record (if you can see it, why search?) and wraps around to 
  12. the beginning.

  14.         Goes backwards one record.
  15. \+
  16.         Goes forward one record.
  17. \b
  18.         Goes to the first record in the user file.
  19. \z
  20.         Goes to the the last record in the user file.
  21. \n
  22.         Enter a new name. You should enter the first and 
  23. last names together. The same limitations apply as in Fido. 
  24. It will allow you to enter a blank name; however, Fido will 
  25. not be able to find it.

  27.         Enter a new city and state. Same as in Fido, using 
  28. the C command.

  30.         Enter a new password. Please do not leave it blank,
  31. as Fido will not let the guy sign on.

  33.         Change privelege level. You enter the first letter 
  34. of the desired privelege, which are listed in the prompt. 
  35. They are: TWIT - low life user; DISGRACE - limited 
  36. priveleges; NORMAL - default; PRIVEL - double time limits; 
  37. EXTRA - 4 X time limits, extra commands; SYSOP - full 
  38. priveleges.

  40.         Enter a new user record. Positions to the end of
  41. USER.BBS, creates a blank NORMAL record. You then use the
  42. commands N, C, P, etc to fill it in. It will be saved
  43. automatically.

  45.         Saves any changes, closes USER.BBS and exits to DOS.

  47.         Mark old users for later deletion. (You get 
  48. prompted for a number.) Anyone who has called within
  49. that many days gets marked as NOT DELETED; anyone over
  50. that gets marked as DELETED. For example, entering 30
  51. will mark as DELETED those who havent called in 30 days;
  52. if you had entered 1200, for example, then everyone
  53. (probably) will be marked as NOT DELETED. You can use
  54. this to UN DELETE previously marked ones. The marked
  55. ones will be purged by the ! command only.

  57.         Mark the current record as DELETED. The record is 
  58. not actually deleted until you use the purge command, !.
  59. \$
  60.         Set a users credit for FidoNet mail. You are 
  61. prompted for a dollar value; the number you enter is ADDED 
  62. to the credit displayed. To set the credit to a specific 
  63. value, enter =10 instead of just 10. The users debit will 
  64. first be subtracted from the credit before adding the new 
  65. credit in.

  67.         Set the default Message Area the user is in when 
  68. they signon. Fido saves the last accessed message (and file) 
  69. area; by setting the privelege level of the A command (Area-
  70. Change) you can force users into a single area that you 
  71. specify. Please see Fido's Installation Manual for details.

  73.         Set the default File Area the user is in when they 
  74. signon. Fido saves the last accessed File (and message)

  79.         Purge all marked users from the USER.BBS file.
  80. You should run O at least once, as it is possible that
  81. older versions may have them marked as DELETED. Three
  82. files are used: USER$$$$.$$$ is a temporary file, USER.OLD
  83. is where deleted users are put, and USER.BBS is renamed
  84. to USER.BAK and the temp file renamed to USER.BBS. You can
  85. also reconstruct USER.BBS by: 
  86.     COPY/B USER.BAK+USER.OLD USER.BBS
  87.         Note that this command will not purge users with 
  88. EXTRA or SYSOP privelege, nor any user with credit left.
